I find these interesting.
If you want to get rid of your enemy, the true way is to realize that your enemy is delusion.
-Kegon Sutra
I was given the choice between wisdom and prophecy. I chose wisdom because I could not stand the burden.
-Luqman, “Islamic Sufism”
The Atman is the witness-consciousness that experiences the action, the actor, and the world of separate things. It is like a light that illuminates everything in a theater, revealing the master of ceremonies, the guests, and the dancers with complete impartiality. Even when they all depart, the light shines to reveal their absence.

For the record...
You two lazy bitches who have emailed me and posted on my LJ asking for info to call or write, and then never responded?
You're lazy bitches. I just wanted to make certain you knew that. =)

Mumbo Jumbo
Well, I suppose it is about time I updated this page. As work is decidedly not busy at this very moment in time, I have a moment or two to spare. This is merely random shit. Now is the time to commence babbling.
California.
I will be heading out to California come this Thursday, and returning late on July 4th. The 5-day weekend that I get from work is a dream, and I will relish the time away from the fast pace and stress that I've been managing - at least partly inefficiently - these last three months. It'll be nice to see the whole CA gang before they all go their separate ways and move to states that are far more expensive to fly to.
Friends.
This last weekend I had the opportunity to visit with another CA friend, which was nice. Always nice to hang with him when he's in town, although he's a bad influence on me. =) So is, for that matter, a certain person who doesn't like his name mentioned anywhere. Silly boy. You know, the one who says that he'll call so we can go to sushi, and then never does.
Esoteric...stuff.
I've been doing a lot of reading into various religious, spiritual, etc. ideas again. I tend to go in waves, and I am now coming out of my 'tapering' phase and entering into the whole 'read it any chance you can get' phase. It's probably because I need time to put things in order in my brain, although that might just be an excuse, too. This is a topic that tends to bore people, and I don't have adequate words for it, so I'll save it for another time.
Martial Arts.
Martial arts is going well. I've finally managed work and life well enough that I can at least attend two classes a week. I'm aiming to kick it up and get in three-five times a week, and I'm quite a bit more serious about it than I have been in the past, but that's partly because I'm not working 12 hour days any longer. Really what it comes down to though is that I know I will retain what I learn far easier and far longer if I attend more often during the week, and more frequent attendance will also allow me to work on more subtleties rather than the gross motor movement, etc.
Alaska.
Annnnd I'll be heading to Alaska August 11th. My first few days will be spent in Fairbanks, visiting everyone possible, including my grandma. On that following Monday I'll head down to either Anchorage or Soldotna, depending on whether or not my sister has had her baby, in order to pamper said sister to the fullest possible extent. I am seriously looking forward to seeing, smelling, and generally just -being- in Alaska, too. Woo!
And now back to work. If you bothered to read this boring post all the way through, I'd apologize... but I'm too lazy. =)

Car Sold!... ?
I met with a couple this weekend who offered to purchase the car. Because she needs to take equity out on her house in order to purchase it, we have come to an agreement (signed, mind you) that she will pay me $250 in non-refundable earnest money until such time as she can get the rest.
My car, folks, is essentially sold. Horray!
Now to find me an old junker that my license plate will look best on. =)

Mmm. Sore.
I had completely forgotten the energy needed in order to successfully get through a weekend of butt-kicking. And so I have created a note to myself, a reminder to avoid hypoglycemic attacks in the future.
Note to Self: Remember to eat something every two hours when you're training for more than a few hours.
There we go. This weekend was amazing, and now today I am amazingly sore... Oddly enough, not as much as yesterday. I still could have used another three hours of sleep last night, but what do you do? Honestly, I wish I would have used my brain and eaten a Clif bar on Saturday; I feel that because I allowed my energy to sag so much, I missed the opportunity to take more away.
I am bummed, too, that I didn't take the chance to be at the women's self-defense seminar, particularly because the man who was supposed to call and meet me to purchase my car never did. Bah.
Wow, hard time drawing my thoughts together to form anything resembling cohesiveness. I think this means it's time to go back to work.
/waaayyyy too much rambling.

Alcohol and Weight Loss
This article explains why I am not drinking while I'm trying to lose weight.
For hypoglycemics, the effects are worse.
